Welcome!

Hi! Thanks for reaching out, I’m excited for the opportunity to connect. My goal is to discover where you feel stuck and together find the peace or resolution you’re looking for. I have various tools such as Microcurrent Neurofeedback, EMDR, and other modalities for holistic care. I hope to create a positive relationship first, then committed to seeing that your time and energy pays off.

How I Work

Coming into therapy can be difficult, so you can expect me to listen first. I truly want to understand where you’re coming from and see that you feel heard. Often individuals come in feeling chaotic, anxious, and unable to sleep. I’ve found it’s hard to jump into talk therapy before the body experiences relief and safety. I am trained in Microcurrent Neurofeedback, which uses cutting edge technology to decrease anxiety, emotional reactivity, and improve sleep. I often utilize this first in order to provide you with relief before diving into talk therapy.

Spotlight

Therapist Spotlight

What made you decide to become a counselor?

In high school I had multiple ACL surgeries with plenty of physical therapy. I was so thankful to my physical therapist that I wanted to do the same for someone else. However, I was terrible at science...and loved psychology. So I now provide “physical therapy for the mind!”

If you could teach the world one skill or technique to improve their lives, what would it be?

Healthy communication skills. This is why counseling can be helpful in and of itself–it’s practicing the skillset that will get you far in relationships and life.

Have you personally been in counseling and if so, what did you learn about yourself?

Of course, I did counseling in grad school. It taught me that I can control the narrative of how I interpret past events. I can choose a negative interpretation or a more adaptive one that helps me move forward instead of staying stuck.

If you could recommend one book to all your clients, what would it be?

Bulletproof by Evy Pompouras & Ecclesiastes (book of the Bible)

Who is your ideal client?

Anyone who takes responsibility for their life and open to change.

What inspires you to help others?

I love seeing people grow and improve in unexpected ways.

How do you personally practice self-care?

I work out almost every day. This keeps me sane! Otherwise, my husband says I start acting like a trapped bunny.

If you are hosting a dinner party, who are the 3 people you would invite and why?

Joan of Arc - Incredible historic figure

Julian of Norwich - had interesting spiritual experiences

Amy Or Ewing - Wise modern day woman

I would want to talk with them individually and see them all interact!

How do you relate to Mindfulness? How do you incorporate it in your sessions?

Mindfulness in my practice looks like helping people see the cycles they are stuck in. So often we’re not aware of the small decisions that keep us stuck or getting the same negative results over and over. Mindfulness helps me to take a step back, and enjoy the present without being so concerned about things I can’t change.
