Welcome!
I’m so glad you took this step. Often, people seek therapy to find relief or clarity when feeling stuck. Regardless of what brought you here, I hope to provide a space where you can feel safe, grounded and heard. I believe the ultimate goal of therapy is to cultivate radical self-acceptance.
How I Work
I see counseling as a collaborative and creative process. I have an eclectic approach and utilize different concepts and modalities depending on where you are at in your journey. I like to begin by hearing about your counseling goals. In the beginning, I will also ask about your upbringing, childhood, and family of origin as I believe the past informs the present. Something we will talk
about is your core values. I see core values as your North Star for navigating the world. Knowing your core values helps to bring you back to your most authentic self.

Therapist Spotlight
What made you decide to become a counselor?
My undergrad degree is in music performance. During my undergrad and when performing in bands, I would often feel anxiety. I struggled with anxious thoughts and the monkey mind. I wanted to change my mindset but didn’t know how. After my healing journey and some soul-searching, I realized I wanted to find a career in which I could help people take control of their lives and feel more at peace. I realized that counseling was just that. The rest is history!
If you could teach the world one skill or technique to improve their lives, what would it be?
Boundaries. “Boundaries” is sort of a catchphrase these days, but I feel that it is a concept that
gets misconstrued. I would specifically teach people about emotional boundaries - where your emotions end and another’s begin. People fear disappointing someone, so they say yes when the mean no or no when they mean yes. I would teach people that they aren’t responsible for the other person’s emotions There is a difference between disappointing someone and intentionally or carelessly causing emotional pain.
Have you personally been in counseling and if so, what did you learn about yourself?
Yes! Being in counseling has helped me to gain awareness around what my blindspots are.
If you could recommend one book to all your clients, what would it be?
Effortless Mastery by Kenny Werner. This is a book originally intended for musicians, but everyone can benefit from it. At the heart of it, the book is about mindfulness and reminding yourself of your inherent worthiness as a human.
What inspires you to help others?
I love creating a positive ripple effect in people’s lives, even in the smallest ways.
Who is your ideal client?
My ideal client is a client who is motivated to create positive change and open to looking at the parts of themselves they have previously run from. I prefer to work with adults and also enjoy working with teens.
How do you relate to Mindfulness? How do you incorporate it in your sessions?
Ultimately, I hope to practice mindfulness every moment of my life. I haven’t achieved that, but
progress not perfect! I believe that mindfulness is the foundation of counseling in general. As a therapist, I need to be present, with openness, and non-judgement for whatever the client is bringing to the session. One thing I do to encourage my clients to be mindful is to leave silence and space for clients to process what’s coming up for them.
If you are hosting a dinner party, who are the 3 people you would invite and why?
Kenny Werner, Jewel Kilcher (singer), and Lac Phillips (creator of To Be Magnetic)
