Welcome
Welcome to the Austin Mindfulness Center!
I’m thrilled you’ve chosen to embark on your journey of self-care, healing, and personal growth with us. Finding a therapist who resonates with you can indeed be a challenge, but I’m here to support you every step of the way.
In our work together, I embrace a person-centered approach that prioritizes your needs and empowers you to explore what feels most relevant in the moment. If you’re ever unsure of what you need—something we all experience from time to time—I’m here to guide our sessions with curiosity and empathy. My integrative approach to counseling encompasses various aspects of your life, including your thoughts, emotions, cultural background, family dynamics, societal influences, religion, and gender identity. Each of us is a mosaic of diverse experiences and identities, and these layers can present unique challenges that are often difficult to navigate alone. My goal is to help you harness your strengths and find your way through these challenges, using the tools and supports that work best for you.
I look forward to working together and supporting your journey towards growth and well-being.
How I Work
My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) to address and explore your thinking patterns, emotions, and behaviors, all with the aim of achieving your individual goals. Together, we will work to expand your coping skills and enhance your sense of empowerment. In this process, we may revisit past coping mechanisms that were once effective but no longer serve you as they once did.
Our work may also involve examining family dynamics and past experiences to understand their impact on your current life. This can include reflecting on generational trauma and its effects on your present-day experiences and well-being.
My primary objective is to establish a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable exploring sensitive topics that may have been difficult to discuss in other settings or within your personal relationships.
