Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence for the Workplace

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, the Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace workshop is designed for you. In six weeks, learn the life skills that will not only help you grow - but thrive in your workplace.

The last two years have been highly disruptive for many workplaces across the world. Many of us have had to adapt to a work landscape filled with uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. All of this calls for a new type of working professional who can meet the demands of the ever-changing workplace with a high-level of attention, adaptability, and cognitive/emotional flexibility. Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence are essential skills for the modern professional.

Program Overview

Whether you are working in an office, at home, or hybrid, the program addresses the psychosocial dimensions of the workplace. The program delivers a comprehensive curriculum centered around mindfulness, and the science of what depletes our energy more than anything else -- stress. Furthermore, the program draws from the pioneering work into Emotional Intelligence of Dr. Daniel Goleman. Together, the program delivers the essential life-skills needed to thrive in today’s workplace.

Program Structure

The 6-week program is highly engaging and interactive. The teaching methodology will consist of six, online, 90 minute weekly group sessions. Each session will consist of mindfulness teachings, use of small breakout sessions, journaling, take-home exercises, and discussions on relevant scientific research in the fields of mindfulness, emotional intelligence, neuroscience, workplace dynamics, and more.

The program will cover a mindfulness-based approach to the five core competencies of emotional intelligence:

  1. Self-Awareness

  2. Self-Regulation 

  3. Self-Motivation

  4. Empathy 

  5. Nurturing Relationships 

Who Should Attend this Program?

Every student receives weekly teachings, access to weekly readings and educational videos, and a set of guided meditations for home/work practice.

About the Instructor
Claudio Barrientos, LMSW

Claudio’s path in the helping profession began in 2010 when he became a certified Mindfulness Instructor. Since that time, he has been on a mission to integrate his education in mindfulness with therapeutic interventions such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Claudio has worked with adolescents and adults in a DBT Intensive Outpatient Program, provided mental health services in Spanish to unaccompanied minors in the Office of Refugee Resettlement, and taught mindfulness to thousands of people across boardrooms, classrooms, and the general public.​
