Welcome!
Hi, I am so excited you are curious about (or continuing) therapy! Therapy can be intimidating, my purpose is to support you unconditionally as you work on your relationship with yourself and others. My purpose is to hear your concerns, encourage you with hope, and teach you skills to improve your life. I look forward to meeting you in person or virtually.
How I Work
My approach to therapy is rooted in establishing a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship built on trust and safety by getting to know one another. I will ask questions grounded in non judgmental acceptance and active listening. I prioritize understanding your unique concerns and goals by respecting you are the expert of your life. Over time I will gently challenge limiting beliefs and patterns by teaching evidence based psychoeducation with light humor. My goal is to teach you concrete tools to increase your self awareness and navigate life's complexities with greater confidence and growth.

I prioritize understanding your unique concerns and goals by respecting you are the expert of your life.
Therapist Spotlight
What made you decide to become a counselor?
I chose to become a therapist after doing my own therapy as an adult. The compassion I received sparked a desire to become a support for others.
If you could teach the world one skill or technique to improve their lives, what would it be?
If I could teach the world one skill to improve their lives it would be to approach everyone with curiosity and give compassion freely.
Have you personally been in counseling and if so, what did you learn about yourself?
I have personally been in therapy and I have learned that my struggles do not define me. They have shaped me into the woman I am and I am proud to be her.
If you could recommend one book to all your clients what would it be?
Oh! I am constantly reading this will change often but right now “Birding with Benefits” by Sarah T. Dubb. The perfect mix of relationship development between self, others, and nature.
What inspires you to help others?
The immense joy I feel when a client walks into session with a story of holding a successful boundary, experiencing less anxiety, or giving themselves the gift of self-compassion is indescribable and keeps me coming for more.
How do you personally practice self-care?
Weekly dance, daily reading, and being in nature relaxes my mind and energizes my body.
If you were hosting a dinner party, who are the 3 people you would invite and why?
My life partner, our daughter and my deceased grandfather so they could meet him for the first time.
How do you relate to mindfulness? How do you incorporate it in your sessions?
I approach mindfulness as a continuous practice of non-judgemental self observation. In session I notice and manage my own physiological and emotional responses in the moment, which enhances my ability to be present and enjoy my time with clients as well as model emotional regulation skills to my clients.
